Course Perquisite:
This course is intended for undergraduate level students in Electrical/Computer Engineering field of study in their junior or senior year. It is assumed that students have prior knowledge of some high level programming language (Basic, Java, C, etc.). Knowledge of basic Digital Electronic is a plus but not required.
Caution: This is a very hands-on oriented course. You should expect to spend longs hours (8 hours/week) on home works and pre labs and labs. Your grade is heavily based on your performance on lab projects, home work and final project. If you think you do not have the luxury of allocating this much time right now, you must reconsider taking this course at another time.
Course Outline:
In this course students will learn how to write programs in assembly and C language for the MC9S12 family of Microcontrollers. In addition students will learn about the basic building block of a modern microcontrollers and its peripherals such as A/D, PWM, SCI,, SPI, etc. After completion of this course students should be able to develop engineering applications in ECE or related fields.
